This is BrandsWalk's exclusive interview with Snow Peak's branding design lead Yusuke Yamai and Product Planning and Development Division's Hayashi.

What is the history behind Snow Peak's HQ1 and the Snow Peak Museum in Tsubame-Sanjo? What is the significance of this location?

"In 2011, the Snow Peak headquarters were established here in Tsubame-Sanjo, the company’s founding location...The vision that Yamai had from the time he started the car camping business was to create an environment where staff could work while watching users enjoy camping... At Snow Peak headquarters, various core company functions are centralized, including product development, event planning and operations, branding, and the home division. Especially the creative facility which is provided at the headquarters, where the office in which the staff work is referred to as the Creative Room."

"The Snow Peak Museum is not just a place to learn about the company’s history. It’s also a place where users donate gear they have loved and used over the years, and those items are displayed along with their memories."

By coming to this place, I believe you can not only learn about the history of Snow Peak, but also truly come to understand the living, authentic spirit of what Snow Peak is today.

Tell us about Snow Peak's recently opened Field Suite Spa. What is the significance behind the Field Suite in containing Snow Peak's legacy?

"In 2022, Snow Peak also newly established the "Snow Peak Field Suite Spa Headquarters," a multi-purpose facility with three functions: bathing, lodging, and dining." Ryusuke says.

"I believe this place serves as a clear representation of the region’s unique character, a hub where you can physically and spiritually experience the local essence of Shitada-go, a part of Tsubame-Sanjo. Based on those multifaceted experiences, I hope we can continue to expand the value of this place, our headquarters, to the entire global audience."
