Staying Inside the Edit: A Closer Look at The Audo Hotel, Copenhagen

What makes this hotel exceptional isn’t just its architecture or furnishings. It’s the way everything exists together — the private and the public, the tactile and the intentional — all layered into one seamless experience.

A Hotel, a Concept, a Way of Living
The Audo Hotel lives inside a multi-use building that also houses Audo’s office, retail shop, and open house. The first-floor café is shared by guests, locals, and design lovers alike — a gathering space that feels more like a creative lounge than a traditional lobby. Upstairs, the hotel rooms feel like private extensions of the brand’s universe.

From the bedside lamp and café table to the chandelier in the main lobby, every object speaks to a quiet clarity in form and function. Every piece has a reason for being there.

Designed to Be Lived In
The hotel interiors are built almost entirely around Audo’s furniture and lighting collection. Kroyersatterlassen, the Copenhagen-based studio behind many of Audo’s recent works, designed the bedside lamps, desks, coffee tables, café tables, and more. Their approach to furniture is honest and modular, yet deeply material-driven — each piece meant to be used, not just admired.

The space also features thoughtful design with:
- Bluetooth speakers from B&O that deliver clean, tactile sound
- Bathroom towels from Tekla, understated and soft
- Body wash and skincare from RAAW Alchemy, rooted in scent and simplicity
Each addition feels considered.

A Walkthrough with Emil Kroyer
One of the most memorable parts of our visit was an exclusive walkthrough with Emil Kroyer, one of the founders and a designer from Kroyersatterlassen. As we moved through the space, he pointed out the details we may have missed at first glance — like the warm, portable lamps at the café, or the way the chandelier connects the material palette from floor to ceiling.
It was a reminder that every object here isn’t just styled. It’s placed. Built to create rhythm. Designed to hold space.

Where You Stay Shapes What You See
The Audo doesn’t feel like a hotel that has been decorated. It feels like a space that has been lived in — slowly, with purpose. It invites you to notice how a chair holds your posture, how light moves across surfaces, how silence feels in a well-proportioned room.
This is a place that teaches you something quietly. That good design doesn’t interrupt. It supports. And when it’s done well, you carry the feeling of it long after you leave.

Why We Brought This Story Home
At BrandsWalk, we’re always drawn to brands that create with intent — and Audo is one of those rare examples where the entire environment reflects the thinking behind the design. Every piece we experienced there holds weight, not because it was bold, but because it was right.
Staying at the Audo reminded us that design isn’t just what surrounds you — it’s what supports you. And that’s exactly what we hope to keep sharing through our curation and storytelling.

Thank you for reading.
