Chapter 1

Humble Beginning

Over a century ago, Yamazaki began as a small, family-run manufacturer of ironing boards in Japan.

What started as a modest enterprise would evolve into something far more expansive. A household name synonymous with thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship.

As customer needs evolved across generations, so did the company. This ability to adapt while maintaining core values would become Yamazaki Home's defining strength.

Chapter 2

A Philosophy Takes Shape

Inspired by small-space living in Japan, Yamazaki Home developed a distinct design philosophy: create truly unique, modern products that are mindfully designed to make incremental improvements throughout the home and elevate quality of life.

At the heart of this philosophy lies a powerful belief: even the most useful, functional products can and should be designed beautifully. Simplicity, quality, and intelligent, considered design became the hallmarks of every creation.

Chapter 3

Designing for life

Today, Yamazak Home's collection spans hundreds of products. From elegant leaning ladders to sleek steel bread boxes and beyond. Every year, our in-house design team introduces innovative solutions tailored to the way people live, addressing needs both functional and aesthetic.

The company has become universally recognized for bringing thoughtful design to everyday items. But recognition is not the goal, empowerment is. Yamazaki Home exists to help customers create useful and beautiful spaces, enabling them to live more joyful, harmonious home lives.

This is the essence of Yamazaki: Happy home harmony.

Did You Know?

Yamazaki didn't start with home organization.

Before becoming a home goods brand, Yamazaki originally made sewing tables for kimonos, later pivoting to ironing boards as Japan adopted Western-style clothing after World War II.

A bullet train ride sparked the brand's global ambition.

The idea to expand came to fourth-generation CEO Shigeru Yamazaki while riding the bullet train, imagining that every home he passed should have at least one Yamazaki product.

Yamazaki has offices on two continents outside Japan.

Yamazaki opened its first overseas office in Brooklyn in 2014, followed by a second in Düsseldorf, Germany in 2017.
